Text Analysis: A Quiet Place

This is my video analysis for the movie A Quiet Place.

The town the family was living in was gloomy and dystopian. Golden-brown leaves rustled with every move, no one to tend to them. The piling weeds soon took over and started infesting the abandoned city. Piles and piles of trash were laying on the ground, unclean and left for good. The silence implies that people living there have left. The score was non-diegetic, and was a tense score during the rocket scene. The clip ends with a serene, hopeful score but slowly transformed into something darker.

It is implied that the people of the town were hunted down and have died. It looks like they've left the scene in a huge rush, spilling jars onto the ground and breaking glass. The supermarket was left in a state of disarray, with merchandise ending up on the floor unused. A traffic light was also shown to have fallen down and is now covered in grass and moss.

  1. - You have not used an introduction and a paragraph 1.
    - I don't know what your big ideas are.
    - In your first paragraph, you are just telling me what is happening in the scene without using any media terminology. You should say: "A close-up shot is used to show brown fallen leaves scattered across the floor. This implies that there is no one to tend to them, perhaps hinting that the town is abandoned. This is further emphasised by the lack of sound, we can only hear the diegetic sound of the leaves rustling. Again this implies that the town lacks inhabitants"
